Have you got an operational process that you know could be improved? Do you need a space to do some fresh thinking to find the solution? Fancy increasing your team’s confidence and engagement in the process? If you have Microsoft Power Platform in your tech stack, then an Innovation and Design workshop might be just what you need!
An Innovation & Design Workshop is where colleagues within your organisation come together to create innovative solutions, often within a set timeframe.
Think of it as a marathon for problem solving and being creative.
Working in teams, problem statements are generated directly related to your day-to-day operational processes. The goal is to ideate winning solutions, which can come in all shapes and sizes, often with teams competing for prizes and recognition.
These workshops provide a great opportunity to gain hands-on design experience and collaborate with like-minded problem solvers. Teams are empowered to take ownership of their own business challenges and create their own digital solutions. Enhancing colleague engagement and satisfaction.
For ways running a Power Platform Innovation & Design workshop can benefit your organisation
- Building a supportive environment. Colleagues from different departments network and assist each other through their digital transitions.
- Unlocking your team’s potential with a custom-made training and development program. This will empower your team with the business analysis knowledge and skills they need to diagnose specific business problem statements and ideate solutions.
- Providing familiarisation of Power Platform. Help your team understand the value of each component and how to leverage them effectively. Your team gains the skills to harness the full potential of Power Platform and learn how it can transform business processes. This leads to increased adoption and engagement, not just in their own teams, but across the whole organisation.
- Finding solutions to your biggest business challenges. This can lead to a reduction in business costs, complaints reduction, increased net promotor score, increased colleague engagement rates….to name a few!
Using our Innovation & Design workshop to accelerate Power Platform in a Local Authority
In May 2024 Marra had the pleasure of hosting a workshop at Northumberland County Council. We spent an energetic, insightful, and productive three days with multiple departments including Warmer Homes, Family Hub and Talent Acquisition.
We shared our expertise on the various Power Platform components, demonstrating the benefits that the platform can inject into your organisation. We facilitated bite size learning sessions to educate participants with problem statement definition, concept and solution design using Power Platform and produced a product backlog.
The teams were able to create some fantastic solution designs that would create a real impact on the organisation. This included a reduction in process handling time due to streamlining and automating processes. This saves colleagues time which they can then spend on other workstreams. Other impacts included improved data quality and reporting, allowing for data-driven business decisions. Finally, it empowers and increases the confidence of the team to solve real business challenges.
Northumberland County Council now have a comprehensive product backlog which they can prioritise and implement to support the implementation of their digital roadmap.
