QRoutes needed to enhance their reporting capabilities in their flagship school transport planning web-app. The static nature of the data presentation within Version 1 of the “Vantage Dashboard” made it challenging for users to extract insights. They also required consistency across their product branding.

For Version 2 they needed a Power Platform Consultant to add intuitive interactivity and data visualisation, reviewing and commenting functionality. They also needed to create a familiar interface and style that aligned with WCAG AA accessibility standards. Recognising the importance of improving data visualisation, they sought Marra’s expertise in Power Platform to create a more engaging and accessible experience.

Marra’s App Maker integrated seamlessly with the QRoutes team, working closely with their Product Manager and business stakeholders, to improve their customers’ experiences. Using Power BI, a greenfield report was developed to enhance the user experience. The desired report interactivity, could not be achieved out of the box by Power BI. Our Power BI Consultant, achieved it by utilising an embedded Power App, facilitating reviewing and commenting functionalities directly within the report. This fusion of Power BI and Power Apps allowed QRoutes to maintain a familiar user experience while significantly expanding the reporting tool’s capabilities.

The close collaboration resulted in a visually appealing, branded report that adhered to WCAG AA accessibility standards, ensuring inclusivity for all users. The tabular data was transformed into intuitive graphical representations, making it easier for QRoutes’ target audience to interpret and derive actionable insights. This enhancement not only improved data comprehension but also empowered Vantage Dashboard users to make more informed decisions. The end result? A more efficient, accessible, and user-friendly platform that elevated QRoutes customers’ reporting experience to a new standard.
